9-member questionnaire sub-committee formed

-2 Feb 2015, Kathmandu - A meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) Proposal Drafting Committee on Monday formed a nine-member Questionnaire Preparation Sub-committee headed by CPN-UML lawmaker Agni Prasad Kharel.
The members of the sub-committee are: Usha Gurung, Ramesh Lekhak, Radheshyam Adhikari, CP Mainali, Krishna Bhakta Pokharel, Shree Maya
Thakali, Atahar Kamal Musalman and Kumar Khadka.
Committee member Rajan Bhattarai said the sub-committee will prepare questionnaires on topics of the contents of the proposed new constitution in which the parties are at odds and submit it to the Proposal Formulation Committee.
The sub-committee will prepare the questionnaires taking the issues raised by the CA members in the meetings of the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee, the Determination Committee and the CA as the reference materials.
The sub-committee has been given until 3 pm tomorrow to prepare the questionnaires.
The sub-committee has prepared a terms of reference (ToR) whereby the members would be allowed to write note of dissent on topics like secularism, inclusiveness and the republicanism without going for voting, member of the Proposal Formulation Committee Rameshwar Phuyal said.
Similarly, the work procedure states that the sub-committee shall prepare a proposal along with the questionnaires so that they do not contravene the democratic republic, secularism and inclusiveness passed by the first meeting of the CA with the consent of all the political parties to institutionalise the achievements of the historical struggles and the People's Movements in the past and their spirit.
