CIAA official caught with bribe

24 Jan 2015, Dhankuta - A Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority investigation officer has been caught while taking bribe on Saturday.

Khimananda Gyawali, an investigation officer at the regional office of the anti-graft body inDhankuta , was arrested from his residence at around 11 am this morning. Police Inspector Pushpa Raj Malla informed that Gyawali had received Rs. 150,000

from one Bhakta Bahadur Bhattarai assuring him to settle his case. Themoney was recovered hidden in a bag at Gyawali’s kitchen.

Gyawali, however, refused that he had demanded money from Bhattaai. He claimed that he had loaned the money to Bhattarai who framed him due to personal rifts.
