An 18-year-old woman in the United States has spoken openly about one of the world’s last taboos — a consensual
The woman, who does not reveal her identity, was conceived at her parents’ prom. She grew up with her mother, who
she claims is bipolar, and only reconnected recently with her father after he contacted her on Facebook.
In candid detail, the teen told New York Magazine’s Science of Us about the unconventional — and in many places, illegal — relationship.
Their first sexual encounter happened five nights after the woman came to stay with her dad. She was a virgin at the time.
Earlier, he had complimented her figure on a shopping trip and she sensed something deeper in his words. On first meeting, she thought he was “so good looking”. And one afternoon, a playful wrestling match became full-blown sex.
“It was insanely sensual. It lasted for about an hour and there was a lot of foreplay,” she said.
“We both had orgasms. We are so similar, so it’s so easy to sexually please each other. For example, we both love neck-biting. I’ve never been in a more passionate, loving, fulfilling situation.”
The dynamic is called Genetic Sexual Attraction, and it reportedly occurs to about half of adults who reconnect with their estranged parents — feelings of romantic and sexual desire that are impossible to deny in many cases.
The woman said she instantly clicked with her father because of their similarities. They both likedThe Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory, for example.
She took her father as her date to prom. Only her closest friend knew that the older paramour was also her father.
Also in the loop is the couple’s roommate (who is also an ex-girlfriend of the father) and the man’s parents.
“Everyone on my mom’s side of the family sees us as father and daughter,” the woman told Science of Us.
“(My mother) doesn’t live in the same town as us and we visit her, together, a couple oftimes a month . Occasionally we slip up and call each other “babe” or other goofy little names. She acts like there’s something up but she doesn’t know what the hell it is.
“We recently got tattoos together. Mine says, ‘I love my peanut butter,’ because I call him my peanut butter. His says, ‘I love my jelly,’ because that’s what he calls me. What father and daughter do you know who have names for each other and tattoos like that? She just said, ‘Oh, those are cute.’ She plays dumb about it.”
The woman said their upcoming wedding would represent their “uniqueness”.
“The colour scheme is black and purple, and we are both going to wear Converse tennis shoes,” she said.
“He’s wearing jeans and a nice dress shirt. He says he’s not wearing a bow tie, but it’s my wedding and I am saying that he is.
“The tables will have bouquets of trees without leaves to represent our marriage, which will be like a growing tree. My dress will be black.”
She said they planned to move to New Jersey, where the law protects genetically related people in sexual relationships.
“Once I’m there I’ll tell everyone. I’ll call my mom and let her know that we are in love and we are having children.”
She is not worried about the medical complications that can arise when incestuous couples reproduce.
And she insists others should cut the pair some slack.
“I just don’t understand why I’m judged for being happy. We are two adults who brought each other out of dark places. People need to research incest and GSA because they don’t get it and I don’t think they understand how often it happens.”
