RPP-Nepal to boycott CA meeting

11 FEB 2015, Kathmandu - The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP)-Nepal has decided to boycott the meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) scheduled to be held on Thursday. The joint spokesperson of the party, Mohan Shrestha, said the RPP-Nepal has decided to boycott the CA meeting as it has been protesting against decision of the CA Questionnaire Formulation Committee to not feature questions regarding federalism, republicanism, and secularism. A joint meeting of
the central work execution committee and Parliamentary Party held at Singha Durbar today concluded that the deliberate exclusion of the issues advocated by the party was autocratic. The meeting also decided to condemn any activities that ignore the party's demand of finalising the issues of federalism, secularism and Hindu nation, among others through a referendum. Shrestha said the party decided to boycott the CA meeting until the process that does not address their proposal in the questionnaire committee continues. RSS
