Disqualified maoist ex-fighters chart out struggle plan

Image result for disqualified maoist fighters26 Feb 2015, Kathmandu - Former maoist's soldiers who were not integrated into the national security agencies have formed a national network to safeguard their rights and launch a peaceful struggle for social change.
A two-day gathering of the former Maoist combatants announced a 13-point charter on Wednesday, demanding state’s
acknowledgement of their contribution to make the country republic, special relief package for ex-fighters disqualified during integration, setting up a welfare fund and construction of parks and monuments in memory of those killed during the conflict, among others.
They have also demanded pension and treatment of former combatants who suffered injury during the war. The charter includes mostly the issues of livelihood and re-integration into the society.  
The ex-fighters have also objected “the non-compliance” of the past agreements, Comprehensive Peace Agreement in particular, and have drawn the attention of the government and the UN towards it.
A total of 50 representatives from all former seven PLA divisions and 21 satellite camps attended the gathering in Kailali to chart out their future course of action. The gathering also formed a 19-member central coordination committee, led by Prem Bahadur Bayak ‘Parbat’.
In mediation of the United Nations Mission in Nepal,  around 1,400 out of 19,061 verified PLA combatants were integrated into Nepal Army, while remaining opted for volunteer retirement and rehabilitation offerings.
