Deuba urges oppn to give up consensus obstinacy

-27 Feb 2015, Biratnagar - Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has opined that the opposition should come to the negotiating table for framing a constitution on consensus.
Speaking in a programme organised by Nepal Press Union Morang on Friday, he said the new constitution would be issued through the majority voting process if consensus could not be forged.
Former Prime Minister Deuba said the
government has carried out good work even in a situation when it is difficult for a coalition government to function, adding that PM Sushil Koirala would be leading the all-party government in case such a government is formed.
Leader Deuba remarked that eastern districts of Jhapa, Morang and Sunsari and the far-western districts of Kailali and Kanchanpur should be included with the hilly districts while delineating the federal states.
Responding to journalists' query on the present government facing the flak from the public and the media for poor performance and failing to issue the new constitution, and calls for the PM's resignation coming from the party, leader Deuba said nobody has asked for the PM's resignation.
The NC senior leader expressed anger over the UCPN (Maoist) leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Baburam Bhattarai's opposition to the process initiated by the ruling parties for constitution writing, and retorted, "Why did not Dahal and Bhattarai issue the constitution when they were the Prime Ministers?"
