-13 DEC 2014, Kathmandu- The much anticipated ‘Purple Fest’ programme of the popular Indian comedian Kapil Sharma has been canceled just a day before the scheduled date. The programme was due to be held in Dasarath Stadium tomorrow.
The Kathmandu District Administration ordered the organisers of the event to cancel the show citing security reasons.
Chief District Officer Ek Narayan Aryal informed that Ncell, the main organiser of the event, was asked to cancel the show as the programme venue was not totally safe from security point of view.
“The stadium is under renovation and there are construction materials like stones and metal rods inside the stadium,” said CDO Aryal, “Anything can happen tomorrow.”
Aryal further claimed that the local administration had not given permission for the event. “We have now asked them to hold the event at an appropriate time and place,” he added.
