The other winners were Anastasia Trusova of Russia, Miss Earth Fire; Maira Alexandre Rodriguez of Venezuela, Miss Earth Water; and Andrea Neu of the United States, Miss Earth Air.
According to an ABS-CBN report, other delegates who made it to the Top 8 were Brazil, Mongolia, Slovak Republic, and Spain.
The evening started with an upbeat opening number, with the candidates emerging in pink gowns, the report said.
A video montage of their stay in the Philippines followed, and later the an- nouncement of the Top 16. The swimsuit presentation was next, followed by the evening gown competition, the report said.
During the question and answer portion, Herrrel was asked: “If you win tonight’s crown what will you do to reverse global warming?”
The Cebu native anwered: “Global warming has been known to be a long, overdue issue. I will use my title to inspire others, help our environment, and we start with the kids -- the kids are the people of tomorrow.”
