Maoists set three preconditions for dialogue

-1 Feb 2015, Kathmandu - The UCPN (Maoist) has said it will sit for talks with the ruling parties if they address its three pre-conditions.
The first demand is scrapping the Questionnaire Committee. The Maoists said the ruling parties can put off the meeting of the committee for
some time if it cannot be scrapped. If both the options are not acceptable to the ruling parties, opposition leaders say a public statement expressing commitment to constitution drafting in consensus could set the stage for the resumption of talks.
“Prime Minister Sushil Koirala himself should be ready for creating an atmosphere for dialogue,” said UCPN (Maoist) spokesman Dina Nath Sharma. Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal presented the proposal in a meeting with PM Sushil Koirala. According to leaders, Dahal also conveyed this message to UML Chairman KP Oli.
