Magnitude 5.5 earthquake hits west Nepal

1 Feb 2015, Kathmandu: An earthquake hit western Nepal at 7:44 pm on Saturday evening sending people out of homes for safety. 

According to the National Seismological Center, the quake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale. 

European Mediterranean Seismological Centre, however, stated that earthquake was of Magnitude 4.8 and epicenter was located 10 kilometers NE of Pokhara in Kaski district. Tremors were felt in adjoining districts too.

No casualty or damage has been reported yet.
