Fire at Mahaboudha

31 Jan 2015, Kathmandu - A fire broke out at Mahaboudha, one of the busiest markets of Kathmandu, on Saturday. Fire erupted from sixth floor of a seven-storeyed building belonging to one Laxman Man Singh Shrestha.
Short circuit has been established as a major reason of the blaze, according to
DSP Bed Bista.
Though no human casualties have been reported, the inferno has damaged the house and the shops rented in it. The house was rented to cell-phones and ceramics businesses. Details of property damaged are yet to be ascertained.
The fire that erupted at 12 pm today was contained after two hours of vigorous efforts by the locals, security personnel and fire engine.
Mahaboudha is popular center for wholesale businesses.
