UCPN (M) hindering statute writing: Deuba

1 Dec 2014, Jhapa - Nepali Congress (NC) senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused the UCPN (Maoist) of  causing obstruction in the drafting of a new constitution.
Talking to media persons at Birtamod of Jhapa on Monday, the former Prime Minister accused the main opposition party of raising unnecessary issues in the constitution-writing.  He arrived here to attend the zonal-level party cadres' training in the neighour district Ilam.
The NC leader claimed the party is flexible regarding the issue of promulgating a democratic constitution within the scheduled date, but the progress is hampered due to stubbornness of the UCPN (M).
The Constituent Assembly has still two months to promulgate a new constitution and it can be issued on time if political parties move ahead on the basis of consensus and collaboration to that end, he added. RSS
