14 DEC 2014, Kathmandu- The Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) chaired by Kamal Thapa has demanded with Prime Minister Sushil Koirala to declare Paush 27 as the birthday of Prithvi Narayan Shah, the founder and unifier of Modern Nepal.
Submitting a memorandum to PM Koirala at the latter’s official residence at Baluwatar, Kathmandu on Sunday, December 14, 2014, Thapa said it is essential to celebrate the day as a Day of National Unity and also print the sketch of Prithvi Narayan in the currency notes of Nepal.
Receiving the memorandum, PM Koirala said founder of a country has been given recognition and respect all over the world and he is highly positive to provide due recognition to Prithvi Narayan as well.
On a different note, RPP-N chair Thapa said a constitution has to be declared within the stipulated date and Nepal must be declared a Sanatan Hindu nation. In response, PM Koirala said he has expectations from RPP-N that it would extend all necessary cooperation to promulgate the constitution in time.
